We started in 2010 with a small group of vans and a simple idea: cruise travelers arriving in Miami deserve transportation that is booked in advance, priced clearly, and actually shows up. Word travelled through the terminals, and the operation grew with it.

Today MIAMI PORT SHUTTLES INC operates one of the largest passenger-transportation fleets working the PortMiami cruise corridor, and our name is recognized across the cruise lines that sail from the port. That reputation was built one sailing at a time, over more than a decade of embarkation mornings and disembarkation rushes.

Fully permitted for PortMiami access

Commercial vehicles do not simply drive into a working seaport. PortMiami is a secured facility, and access is controlled under Miami-Dade County rules. We hold the permits Miami-Dade County requires for commercial passenger transportation and we pay the recurring port-access fees that keep those credentials current.

For you, that means your vehicle is authorized to be where it says it will be. For us, it means an operating record we have protected for more than a decade.

Qualified, licensed drivers

Every driver who represents MIAMI PORT SHUTTLES INC holds the licensing the State of Florida requires for commercial passenger transportation and meets the qualification and background requirements that apply to our operation.

Beyond the paperwork, our drivers know this specific corridor: which terminal a ship is berthed at, how the tunnel behaves on a five-ship morning, and how long baggage claim really takes at each airport. That local knowledge is the part you cannot license.

Understanding PortMiami

PortMiami sits on Dodge Island in Biscayne Bay, connected to the mainland by the Port Boulevard bridge and the PortMiami Tunnel. Widely known as the Cruise Capital of the World, it is one of the busiest cruise ports anywhere, and on a peak weekend morning several ships embark thousands of passengers within the same few hours.

Practically, this matters for your transfer. Cruise terminals are assigned by cruise line and sailing, and assignments change. Traffic onto Dodge Island concentrates sharply around embarkation and disembarkation windows. A pre-booked transfer with your cruise line, ship, and sailing date on the reservation is how we place you at the right terminal at a workable time.

South Florida’s airports, and why we serve only two

South Florida has three major commercial airports, and cruise passengers arrive through all of them. We deliberately specialize in the two that carry the overwhelming majority of PortMiami traffic.

Miami International Airport (MIA)

The closest major airport to the cruise port. MIA’s official ground-transportation guidance places PortMiami roughly 9 miles away. Short on the map, but arrival banks, baggage claim, and causeway traffic still shape how much time you actually need.

Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL)

In Broward County, roughly 45 minutes from PortMiami without traffic; Broward County’s own cruise-passenger guidance recommends allowing at least 90 minutes. Note carefully that FLL sits beside Port Everglades, which is a different seaport. If your ship sails from PortMiami, you still have a highway trip ahead of you.

Palm Beach International (PBI) is the region’s third airport. It is farther north and outside the corridor we serve, which keeps our vehicles, drivers, and schedules concentrated where our customers actually sail.

• Booked in advance, not hailed on arrival. Your reservation carries the flight number, cruise line, ship, date, time, and party size.
